(“Tony’s Pride and Joy” has been the favorite painting for members of CBC and for many of our friends,
families, and patrons. This repeat painting was commissioned by Doug Chestnut, who wanted it painted
just like Canvas by Canvas' first rendition.
The 1951 GMC pickup truck portrayed in this painting was first photographed by the artists near Santa Fe,
NM. The truck is carefully rendered in acrylic paint on canvas with brush and a colorful palette. Mounted
in a custom made wood frame, the painting is the combined work of the nine Canvas by Canvas artists and
measures 37" x 37" framed. Each 10" x 10" square was painted independently of the others. The charm
of the piece lies in the individuality of style found in each section of the painting. The painting is signed
with the group Canvas by Canvas signature, and each one of the nine canvas panels has been discreetly
initialed by the artist who painted it. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the contributing
artists. This piece of art is sturdily constructed to stay beautiful for generations. It would be a treasured
addition to any art collection, and the perfect gift for the man or woman who appreciates American
automotive classics. The painting comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artists.
This painting is in a series of vintage automobiles the artists have painted and as such sure to be a
valuable investment. Other works may be viewed on the Canvas by Canvas web site.
